What Are Time Blocks?
Time blocks are scheduled instances of tasks for specific team members on specific days. They represent “who does what, and when” — the core of BFF’s shift-based scheduling.
The Weekly Schedule View
Navigate to Schedule in the sidebar to see the weekly view. It displays:
- Columns for each day of the week
- Rows for each team member
- Color-coded blocks representing scheduled tasks
- Time labels showing start and end times
Creating a Time Block
- Navigate to the Schedule page
- Click on an empty slot for a team member on a specific day
- Select the task to schedule
- Set the start time and end time
- Click Save
The time block appears as a colored block on the schedule, using the task’s assigned color.
Editing Time Blocks
- Click any existing time block to open its editor
- Drag blocks to move them to different times or days
- Resize by dragging the edges to adjust duration
- Delete by opening the editor and clicking remove
Schedule Tips
- Build schedules one week at a time for clarity
- Use Job Role templates to quickly populate a full week for new hires
- Check the monthly calendar view for a broader perspective
- Time blocks are linked to the Impact Cascade Engine — if a task changes, affected blocks are flagged
Important: Only Managers, Team Leads, and Admins can create and modify schedules for team members. Team Members can view their own schedule.
