Requesting Time Off

BFF includes a built-in time-off request system that integrates directly with scheduling and coverage management.

How to Submit a Request

  1. Navigate to Time Off in the sidebar
  2. Click ”+ Request Time Off”
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Start date — First day of time off
    • End date — Last day of time off
    • Reason (optional) — PTO, sick day, personal, etc.
    • Notes (optional) — Any additional context
  4. Click Submit

Request Statuses

StatusMeaning
PendingSubmitted, waiting for manager approval
ApprovedManager approved — coverage planning begins
DeniedManager denied the request

What Happens After Submission

  1. Your manager or time-off approver receives a notification
  2. They review the request alongside the schedule
  3. BFF’s AI Coverage Ranker automatically suggests replacement candidates
  4. The manager approves or denies the request
  5. You receive a notification about the decision

Viewing Your Requests

  1. Go to Time Off
  2. See a list of all your submitted requests
  3. Each shows the date range, status, and any notes

Cancelling a Request

If your plans change:

  1. Open the pending request
  2. Click “Cancel Request”
  3. The request is withdrawn

Tip: Submit time-off requests as early as possible. This gives your manager more time to arrange coverage and ensures smooth operations during your absence.
