Requesting Time Off
BFF includes a built-in time-off request system that integrates directly with scheduling and coverage management.
How to Submit a Request
- Navigate to Time Off in the sidebar
- Click ”+ Request Time Off”
- Fill in the details:
- Start date — First day of time off
- End date — Last day of time off
- Reason (optional) — PTO, sick day, personal, etc.
- Notes (optional) — Any additional context
- Click Submit
Request Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Submitted, waiting for manager approval |
| Approved | Manager approved — coverage planning begins |
| Denied | Manager denied the request |
What Happens After Submission
- Your manager or time-off approver receives a notification
- They review the request alongside the schedule
- BFF’s AI Coverage Ranker automatically suggests replacement candidates
- The manager approves or denies the request
- You receive a notification about the decision
Viewing Your Requests
- Go to Time Off
- See a list of all your submitted requests
- Each shows the date range, status, and any notes
Cancelling a Request
If your plans change:
- Open the pending request
- Click “Cancel Request”
- The request is withdrawn
Tip: Submit time-off requests as early as possible. This gives your manager more time to arrange coverage and ensures smooth operations during your absence.
