What Are Job Role Templates?

A Job Role is a template schedule for a specific role in your company (e.g., “Virtual Assistant”, “Customer Support Rep”). It includes pre-configured time blocks that can be applied to any new team member in one click.

Why Use Job Roles?

  • Faster onboarding — apply a complete schedule instantly
  • Consistency — every person in the same role gets the same baseline schedule
  • Flexibility — customize after applying if needed

Creating a Job Role

  1. Navigate to Job Roles in the sidebar
  2. Click ”+ New Job Role”
  3. Enter a name (e.g., “Virtual Assistant”)
  4. Add template time blocks — define the standard weekly schedule
  5. Link tasks to the role — specify which tasks this role is responsible for
  6. Save the Job Role

Template Time Blocks

Template time blocks define the standard schedule:

  • Day of week — which day
  • Start and end time — the time range
  • Task — which task is performed

Applying a Job Role

When a new team member joins:

  1. Go to their profile or the Schedule page
  2. Select “Apply Job Role”
  3. Choose the role template
  4. Time blocks are created automatically for that person
  5. Adjust any blocks as needed

Tip: Job Roles are also linked to the Impact Cascade Engine. If a task in a Job Role is deleted, BFF flags the template for review.
